college football early thoughts

this week's leans in comments section..

  1. Florida easy cover. Lane Kiffin is the only person who has ever made Tim Teabow say a cuss word.

Urban Meyer hates the Vols enough to win by 50...

  2. I'm not positive I will throw on it, but must admit I am also a bit intrigued by the moneyline play on the Yellow Jackets tonight.

  3. Northwestern bounces back and covers at Cuse easily.

  4. Got to say, I am in agreement with crill about gtech tonight

"We're Back!" is all that they are saying down in miami after beating a team that could barely beat jacksonville state (who gtech absolutely destroyed)

The the jackets performance in the 2nd half against clemson helped to skew the line I think in favor of miami but surprisingly the money is about 50/50 between the sides ...

  5. No way BC covers on Saturday - and you have no idea how much this pains me. Something about Death Valley, and BC's overall game makes me scared as shit to bet on this game. Staying away from it for now, but liking VTech giving 5 against Nebraska at Virginia Tech -

    Comments welcome.

  6. couldn't be more fired up for the bc game. generally try to stay away from taking the eagles, but think i like the money line (and as crill and i discussed, the under) for a couple bucks

looking for someone to give me a reason to take mich st, i couldnt dislike this nd team more.

keep hearing that washington has a shot to make some noise vs usc this wknd, generally that means usc by 30

has anyone watched northwestern play? why doesn't syracuse have a shot here? good chance you see the orange featured in my sat a.m. post

  7. if cuse can take minny to OT and not get blown out at Penn St , there is no doubt in my mind they can run with Northwestern...

aaron corp is starting this week for USC, he's no barkley so if wash can stop the run , they can hang around for sure

I may be going insane but i kind of agree with eagles in DC with vtech... they could run all over the huskers

BC hasn't been tested in 2 blowout wins, ramsey and scafe are hurting on the dline and they haven't really gotten to the qb yet .. they will be so focused on spiller that parker has a day

  8. Let me tell you why I like VTech - and normally I would rather puke in my mouth, swallow it and then french kiss a 250 pounder than root for the Hokies - however, Ryan Williams is a stud. Ran for a 57 yard touchdown, and has 235 total yards on the season. Taylor chucking the pigskin is not doing poorly either - 257 yards throwing, 50% cmp rate and from what I've seen, he's pretty confident on the field. Additionally, the Hokies haven't lost a non-conference game at home in the past 31 tries. Second reason - after traveling in Omaha a couple of weeks ago and takling with the bellboy and bartender (two people I frequently try to get football tips from), they felt less than confident that Nebraska was going to be as good as people are talking them up to be. Granted their offense has put up almost 1,000 yards in the first two games, they were also playing Florida Atlantic and Arkansas State. The Roanoke Times is virtually blowing Ndamukong Suh with no teeth saying that he's the best defensive tackle in the Western Hemisphere.

All in all, I'm liking the Hoakies giving 5 in this game and Nebraska can lick my wonder cheese.

  9. i'm staying away from this game (so I'm not necessarily bashing VTech), but you will learn very quickly that 5 is a really tough number to give

that, and unless he's running the ball, tyrod taylor sucks. a 50% comp percentage is not a good thing
